Tectonic Wave Theory - Saline Lakes
The current Tectonic Plate Theory assumes that the crust material above the sea has always looked the same as it looked millions of years ago. The Tectonic Plates have just moved around the world, floating on super-heated material from the Earth’s Core. It’s almost like cutting a pie and removing it from the pie pan and placing it onto a larger pan. You can move the pieces around on the larger pan, but the pieces you cut retains its shape as you move them around. The pieces are like a puzzle, if you push the pie pieces together they would look like a whole pie again. A pie just sitting on a bigger plate. This is idea of Pangea, one large continent broken apart, is like puzzle pieces fitting back together nicely. So when it comes to the formation of salt or saline lakes, the current theory states the following, “Salt lakes form when the water flowing into the lake, containing salt or minerals, cannot leave because the lake doesn’t allow for water to flow from it”.
